Open Faculty and Professional Positions 2012/13

During the 2012/13 academic year the College of Liberal Arts will search for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Faculty positions will be full-time over the nine-month academic year and will begin fall semester 2013 or later.

Position descriptions and application instructions are accessed by visiting the corresponding employment requisitions on the University of Minnesota's Employment web site. Requisitions are open to receiving applications when posted to the web site.

Asian Languages and Literatures

The Department of Asian Languages and Literatures will search for a tenure-track position in Japanese literature and culture to begin fall semester 2013. Appointment will be at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor. The department seeks expertise in the analysis of Japanese literature, media, or film in the modern and/or contemporary periods.

Austrian Studies

The College of Liberal Arts is searching for a director of the Center for Austrian Studies. The successful candidate will hold an administrative appointment as director of the center, and a faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor with indefinite tenure in the college.

Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature

The Department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature will search for a tenure-track position specializing in word/image/sound to begin fall semester 2013. Appointment will be at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor. The department seeks expertise in intellectual history, music, media studies, moving image studies, or literature primarily.

Geography

The Department of Geography will search for a tenure-track position in biophysical geography to begin fall semester 2013. The department seeks an exceptional physical scientist whose research is focused on terrestrial environmental change; preference will be given to candidates working on problems in paleoclimatology, climate dynamics, or ecological change. Appointment will be at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor.
